For Christ, yes.
But it's not as if we are waiting for Christ in the same way we wait impatiently for a red traffic light to turn green, or in anticipation for the next Marvel movie to be released, or even with the same longing for winter to turn to spring.
We are waiting and longing for something far deeper, something far more profound and primal.
We are longing to be loved. Fully. Completely. Unreservedly.
More than a season of waiting, Advent is a season of longing, of yearning for our hearts' deepest desire.
And the longings will not rest "until they rest in thee."
