Early in the morning, on the first day of the week while it was still dark—I woke my six-year-old son from a dead sleep!

It was time to get up and on our way for the sunrise Easter Sunday service.

As I gently stroked his cheek and arm to rouse him, with cheer and enthusiasm I said in a loud whisper, “Alleluia! The Lord is risen! The Lord is risen indeed!”

Eyes still closed and body limp with slumber, he said with conviction, “But I am not risen indeed!”

Perhaps, Preacher, that is how you feel on this Easter Monday!

Jesus may have risen but you cannot!
