Yes, of course we're grateful, awed, and humbled by the grace and power of Jesus's resurrection. Of course we are!
AND, there isn't a clergy person I know who wasn't already exhausted before Easter, and is feeling even more drained after the strenuous efforts of the last week.
However, I think the fatigue is more than simply the mental and physical energy that Holy Week and Easter require.
I think the fatigue is so deep because there are so many tangled emotions stretching back at least two years of the pandemic.
So much has happened that made our hearts leap with joy, while other events bent us to the ground weeping like the tears would never stop.
It's simply more than one body can contain.
It's no wonder we're so tired!
